James "Jim" L. Thompson

69, died at 4:48 AM on Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

James was born on Sunday, June 27, 1948, in Springdale, Ohio, to the late Ray E.  Thompson and Jaunita  (Moran) Thompson.  On July 12, 1969, he married Susan  (Jovanovic) Thompson, she survives in Lima.

He served in the United States Navy and was proud of his time in the service and was a proud Patriot. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years. He was known to most people as a boat nut or ornery ass. He was a very talented man with a loving heart and would help anyone.

He is survived by his sons, James Thompson Jr. and Jeremy (Kathy) Thompson; five grandchildren, Chelsey, Brandon, Jessica, Tylor,  Zach; four step grandchildren, Amber, Elizabeth, Karlee, Kevin; twelve great grandchildren and two on the way; siblings, Linda, Mike, Judy &(Gary), Donald & (Linda), Terry & (Darren).

In loving memory of his oldest brother, Ed Thompson, who preceded him in death.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
