Janet L. Murphy

Janet L. Murphy, 93, passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at The Springs of Lima. 

Janet was born on April 9, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, to Louis and Irene (Hogan) Garner. On July 16, 1955, she married Richard G. Murphey, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2017.

Janet had worked in the office at Westinghouse. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and loved going to the old Casa Lu Al. She was a fun, funny, and ornery person, full of life.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katy McPheron and twin, Jane Bice.

Per Janet’s request, there will be no public visitation; simply a private mass at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father Mike Sergi officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Springs of Lima for their care of Janet.
