Jill Ann Buddelmeyer , beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, under Hospice care.
Jill was born on May 15th, 1939, in Bluffton, Ohio to Richard and Pauline (Little) Pope. She graduated, Salutatorian, from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, and later attended Heidelberg College, majoring in music. In 1960 she married Marvin Buddelmeyer and raised her family in Elida, Ohio.
Jill will be remembered as a kind and giving woman, who cared deeply about others, and was guided by her love for The Lord. Jill had a deep connection with music and loved playing the piano and singing. She enjoyed being in the choir, and was a part of the Praise and Worship Teams for the churches she attended. Jill was a passionate reader, and her love of literature led to her position as library aide at Elida Middle School, where she was not only surrounded by books she loved, but allowed her to connect with the youth in the school. Jill loved to travel, and she especially enjoyed the beauty and history of Charleston, South Carolina, where she spent several vacations with her family. Most importantly, Jill loved being a grandmother, and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren in sports, plays and dance recitals.
Jill was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind beautiful memories. She is survived by her four children: Jacqueline (Bob) O’Connor, Elizabeth Buddelmeyer, Joel Buddelmeyer and Kimberly Buddelmeyer; and six grandchildren: Sarah, Samuel and Katherine Buddelmeyer, Olivia Buddelmeyer, and Mia and Ella Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin and her brother, Richard (Tamara) Pope.
