Joseph A. Casey

Joseph Alan Casey, 57, passed away unexpectedly of a massive heart attack on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Joe was born on January 7, 1969, in Lima, Ohio, to Timothy Patrick and Elsie May (Thomas) Casey. On August 29, 1992, he married Karina (Plotner) Casey, who survives in Delaware, OH.

Joe graduated from Bath High School in 1988. He earned his CNC Machining certificate through Apollo Career Center in Lima. He went on to work at Stamco, Crown, and General Dynamics as a CNC machinist, tank driver/inspector, and material handler. Joe enjoyed playing the guitar and golf. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Brittany (Ken) Keillor, Taylor Casey, and Adam (Torie) Casey; grandchildren: Cayden, Kallie, Nora, Kenzlee, Jaylen, and Zachary; and brothers: Thomas (Jeri) Casey, Timothy (Lori) Casey, and John (Joan) Casey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leonard Paul Casey.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N Cable, Lima, Ohio 45805. There will be a short viewing from 9 – 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with the funeral service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ed Rinehart will officiate. Burial service will be immediately thereafter in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
