John N. Frey, Jr.

John N. Frey, Jr., 79, passed away at 3:08 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his residence. 

John was born on October 30, 1944, in Lima, Ohio, to John N. and Virginia Iola (Mack) Frey, Sr.  On May 26, 1965, he married Ruth (Cottrell) Frey, who survives in Lima.

John had worked at Clark Equipment as a machinist and at Bath Elementary School as a custodian.  He had a passion for restoring classic cars.  He enjoyed carpentry and building.  He also loved nature and animals, especially dogs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Angela (Teal) George, Michael (Cheryl) Frey, and Steve Frey; grandchildren: Shawn (Amber) Petaway, Carly (Tanner) Fagan, Chad (Bri) Frey, and Laken George; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra (Jim) Ridings.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sally Shelley.

There will be no public visitation or services.
