In loving memory of John Mauk, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John Mauk, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Marine, who left this world on January 25, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of his wife, Judy Mauk, and daughter, Wendy Heber.
John was a man of unwavering strength, integrity, and kindness. Born on June 25, 1944, he dedicated his life to his family and country through his service as a proud marine.
As a true family man, he found his greatest joy in the company of those he held dear. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table for a hearty meal, fixing things that may not have been broken in the first place, or solving all of the world's problems in one evening, John had a commitment to those he loved. John also had a unique sense of humor that was truly one of a kind, making him a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends. His humor bound family and friends together, creating a legacy of joy and laughter that will endure in their hearts forever.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary (Lia) Mauk, and brother, Daniel Mauk. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Mauk; daughter, Wendy Heber; son, John Mauk; daughter-in-law, Mindy Mauk; sister, Cindy Flors; brother-in-law, Terry Flors; and grandchildren: Sarah Nield, Zach Nield, Josh Heber, and Emerson Mauk; as well as a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Nield. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy of love and warmth that he leaves behind.
A memorial service to honor and remember John Mauk will be held on Tuesday, January 30, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N Cable Rd, Lima, OH, 45805.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's
Association® or the Wounded Warrior Project®. “It is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”
