John Roger Spencer

John Roger Spencer, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

John was born on November 9, 1949, in Lima, Ohio, to Paul Max and Fedora Rose (Franklin) Spencer. On May 5, 2012, he married Paulette (Anglin) Spencer, who survives in Lima.

John had worked as a janitor at Ford Motor Co. He was an elder in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for years and was a faithful brother and servant to the church. His loves were baseball, Kewpee hamburgers and working with wood to make furniture and other things.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepchildren: Krystal (Craig) Collins, Stephanie Jones, and Candice (Edward) McCockran; step-grandchildren: Kristien McCockran, Cameron McCockran, Edward McCockran III, Carmen Collins, Cali Collins, and Corey Collins; brother Paul (Becky) Spencer; nieces & nephews: Sherie (James) Santos, Dawn (Ken) Onye, Tracy (Steve) White, Paul (Amanda) Spencer, Renae (Shawn) Laughman, and Heather (Joey) Balliger; and best friend, Tim Burgess.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Spencer; and sister, Rochelle Hicks.

A memorial talk will be given at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a date to be determined.
