Juanita Stemen

JUANITA ELEANOR STEMEN, 88, died at 5:32 p.m. September 14, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1916, in Lima, Ohio to Melvin and Lovie McGinnis Reed, who preceded her in death. She married Glenwood Austin Stemen, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Stemen had worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp., for 18 years. Survivors also include two brothers, Bill (Ruth) Reed and Carl (Dorothy) Reed, both of Lima, Ohio; two sisters, Betty (Clarence) Pohlabel of St. Lucie, Florida, and Shirley (Larry) Jett of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Bradley (Connie) Stemen, Gregory Stemen, Stephanie George and Alexis George; four great-grandchildren, Megan Williams, Justin Williams, Ashley Stemen and Brandon Stemen; several nieces and nephews; good friend and neighbor, Phyllis Staton; and a sister-in-law, Altha Reed. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stemen; and a brother, Fred Reed. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas E. Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Gomer. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
