Karen Kohrn, 78, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home in Elida, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 5, 1948, in Lima to the late Garvin and Goldie {Musser} Ludwig. On July 11, 1964, she married Carl “Mel” Kohrn, who survives in Elida.
She was a member of South Side Christian Church, where she volunteered for many years. She was an exceptional baker, especially cookies and pies. She enjoyed visiting the Myrtle Beach area and going on cruises, and above all else, being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Mel; sons, Bryan (Susan) Kohrn and Eric Kohrn; grandchildren, Nick (Lauren) Kohrn and Kelly (Tom) Stevens; 10 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Mike (Pat) Kohrn; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ludwig and Sue Ludwig.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Elaine Morvay, Kathleen (Jack) Armstrong, Junella (Gerry) Picker, Kenneth (Gerri) Ludwig, Arnold (Sandra) Ludwig, Frank (Betty) Ludwig, Jerry Ludwig, and Larry Ludwig.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
