Katherine J. Rahrig

Katherine J. Rahrig, 64, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at her home in Lima.

Katherine was born on December 13, 1956, in Lima, Ohio, to James Dee and Mary Jane (Vastano) Kennedy.  On September 15, 1984 she married Rick Rahrig who survives in Lima.

Katherine had worked at Gasdorf Tool and Die and also Scott Lad Rudolph Foods in their offices.  She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.  She was known for her impeccable taste in decorating her home and her taste in clothing.  Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her mother; step-children, Virginia (Louis) Torchio and Shon (Patricia Smith) Rahrig; step-grandchildren, Amanda, Mathew, and Nicholas Torchio; sister, Kristine Kennedy; nieces and nephew, Angela (Jon), Aubrea (Chris) and Jimmy; great-nephews, Mason and Jonathan; and great-nieces Isabella and Layken.

She was preceded in death by her father; her sister, Karmen Kennedy; and special grandmother, Margaret “Peg” Vastano.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. followed by a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at St. Charles Catholic Church.  Father Thomas Varghese will officiate.  Burial will be at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to James Cancer Hospital - Solove Research Institute in Columbus, OH.
