Kathleen Mason

Kathleen K. Mason, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2026, at The Springs of Lima surrounded by family. She was born on January 12, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Daniel and Alice (Schmidt) Murray. On February 10, 1962, she married her sweetheart of 64 years, Larry Mason, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2025.

Kathy enjoyed quilting and a good theological discussion. Studying God’s word was one of her favorite things to do. Kathy was a homemaker, although at various times throughout her life, she had jobs where she cooked or served food. Kathy also loved volunteering by giving her time and resources to others, including making and serving food at church events. Some of her best summers were spent at the farm. She loved to can, garden and make bread from the family recipe, which was one of her family’s best memories

She is survived by her daughters: Lori (Jeff) Hefner, Linda (Shaun) Gane, and Tina (Greg) Evans; grandchildren: Jason Hefner, Micah Hefner, Ashley Graham, Brittaney Trail, Cortney DeBlaere, Mason Evans, and Olivia Evans; 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, a son and a sister Barb Behning.

The family will have a private funeral ceremony. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
