Kenneth Melton, 85, passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Kenneth was born on January 11, 1940, in Barbersville, Kentucky, to William D. and Nellie A. (Jackson) Melton. On April 24, 1963, he married Ursula (Koch) Melton, who preceded him in death.
Kenneth was a retired Sgt. in the Army National Guard, stationed in Germany. Kenneth then worked at Textron for over 30 years, and was a deacon at Lighthouse Baptist Church for many years. Kennth also loved hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his children, Caroline (Scott) Stevens, Diana Melton and James (Kathleen) Melton; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sons, David Koch, Kenneth Melton II, and John Melton.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. John Gallaway will officiate. Burial will follow at Allentown Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family.
