Larry E. Bilbrey

Larry E. Bilbrey, 84, of Elida, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 12, 1939, in Lima to the late Walter and Cecile {Bowers} Bilbrey.

In October of 1961, he married Judith {Callahan}, who preceded him in death in 2014. Larry graduated from Bath High School’s first graduating class. Following high school he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned his own business, Larry Bilbrey Concrete Company. He enjoyed hunting and shooting with his friends every Sunday, as well as playing cards and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, demonstrating hard work and dedication to his family, and was kind and caring to everyone he met.

He is survived by his children: Tracie (Chris) Taylor, Tammie (Greg) Mangette, and Debbie Hall; grandchildren: Brooke Guagenti, Brice Taylor, Tony (Sara) Mangette, Brett (Sarah Smith) Mangette, Cameron (Miranda) Mangette, Andy (Kelsey Duffy) Hall, Nick (Tanya Morales) Bilbrey, and Jamie (Ryan) Hobbs; great-grandchildren: Avery, Vincent, Beckett, Breggan, Addi, JJ, Aella, Camden, Lena, Declan, Owen, Killian, Darian, Braylan, Tiara, Madyson, Jackson, and Carson; siblings: Mary Ann Steveley, Kaye Hunlock, Erlene (Dale) Binkley, Greg (Deb) Bilbrey, and George Bilbrey.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Bilbrey; and brothers: Bill, Dick, and Bob Bilbrey; as well as two infant brothers.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. Friends may visit one hour prior to the funeral from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
