LOIS E. THORNTON DELAP LLOYD, 72, died at 9:06 p.m. January 24, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, after a short but valiant fight with cancer. She was born August 29, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio to Maurice M. and Forrest M. Carmean Thornton, who preceded her in death. On November 4, 1978, she married Ansel Lloyd, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Lloyd retired as a medical sales representative and trainer from Teva International Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, after 26 years. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Miami Valley Pharmaceutical Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. She had been a member of the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her dog Buster. She raised cockatiels and roses. Survivors include two daughters, Chris Rockhold of Worthington, Ohio and Darla Costa-Wintersteller of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Maurice "Butch" (Vicky) Delap of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Robert Delap of Santa Barbara, California; five grandchildren, Alison (John) Basinger; Pfc. Michael Costa, serving with the Marines, Pfc. Joshua Delap, serving with the Army Airborne Rangers, Lela Delap and David Delap. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Wolfe and Maurice "Punch" Thornton. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Ruth Ramsey will officiate.
