Louella Swickrath

Louella M. Swickrath, 82, died at 11:15 a.m. September 6, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born February 6, 1928, in Lima to William and Dorothy Nesbit Campbell, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1944, in Findlay, she married Lester C. Swickrath Sr., who died September 10, 2002. Mrs. Swickrath retired from R.G. Dun Cigar in 1978. She was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved being with her family for celebrations and enjoyed watching parades. She enjoyed sitting on her swing, watching the neighborhood children, and the squirrels and birds she fed. She had a special cat, ?Little Girl,? who she loved very much. Survivors include three sons, Lester Swickrath Jr. and Timothy (Nannette) Swickrath, both of Lima, Ohio, and John (Shirley) Swickrath, of Columbus Grove, Ohio; two daughters, Barbara Gambrel, of Lima, Ohio, and Sandra (Bill Carpenter) Newland, of Elida, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Donald, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Jason, Carl, Paula, Christopher, Stacey and Shelby; and 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Swickrath; a son-in-law, Donald Gambrel; a sister, Victoria Fast; a brother, William Campbell Jr.; a grandson, Jason; and a great-granddaughter, Amber. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor John Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice.
