Margaret Ann Rettig

Margaret Ann Rettig, 88, passed away at 10:08 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at The Springs of Lima.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, to Augustus and Nancy (Caruso) Cira. On June 23, 1956, she married Robert Rettig, who preceded her in death on July 15, 2025. They had just celebrated their 69th Anniversary.

Margaret was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She also retired from JCPenney after many years.

She is survived by her children, Edward (Lisa) Rettig, Marcia (Robert) Greve, and Robert (Trish) Rettig; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Rietz, Robert Rettig, Rachel (Ryan) Lanciaux, Ryan (Natalie) Rettig and Robyn (Cody) Walsworth; and great grandchildren, Caroline, Alaina, Adalyn, Lily, Lucas, Warren, Max, Olivia and Rhett.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Jim Cira, Frank Cira, Josephine Fox, Tony Cira, Joe Cira, Rosemary Michael and Nettie Cira.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 before the service. The Mass of Christian Burial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at St. Charles Catholic Church. Father Kent Kaufman will officiate. Entombment will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church or Lima Central Catholic.
