Martha J Morrisey

Martha J. Morrisey, 91, passed away on September 26, 2023, at her residence.

Martha was born on June 25, 1932, in Newark, Ohio to Loren Dewitt and Florence (Welker) Fairall. She married Louis “Gene” Morrisey who preceded her in death.

Martha was a 1950 graduate of Lima Central High School. She worked at Feldman’s Department store, and then retired from Lima, YWCA in 1994 after 27 years. She was an avid cross stitcher, and in her later years she enjoyed crocheting. Martha loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, David (Marianne) Morrisey and Barbara (Gary) Williams; grandchildren, Jennifer Bodine, James Williams, Jason Williams, and Kristi Beck; great grandchildren, Jordan Bodine, Ridge Beck, Janae Beck, Trevor Bodine, Madison Williams, and Brady Williams.

She is preceded in death by her husband Louis “Gene” Morrisey; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Susan Morrisey; and 2 sisters, Mary Belle Fairall and Marjorie (Ed) Suter.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.        Rev. Lori Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice.
