Mary May

Mary J. May, 77, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:20 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born on September 10, 1943 in Lima to the late Virgil and Betty {Bundy} Mumper.

On October 8, 1961 she married Harold Wayne May and he preceded her in death March 14, 2019. Mary was a 1961 graduate of Beaverdam High School. She was a homemaker and later worked at Marimor Industries, where she retired after over 20 years. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday school, and worked in children’s ministry for almost 50 years. She had a deep faith and prayed daily for her family and friends. She loved her family and her Lord first and foremost. She also enjoyed plants, crocheting, sewing, reading, and Hallmark movies.

She is survived by her son: Daniel (Annette) May of Beaverdam, daughters: Christine (Matthew) Willmington of Lynchburg, VA, Janey (Shane) Reese, of Temple, GA, and Linda (Kevin) Simon of Lynchburg, VA, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and sisters: Linda (Frank) Balogh and Ann (Joe) Briggs.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother David Mumper.
