Mary Margaret Moritz

Mary Margaret Moritz, 89, passed away at 4:53 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024, at her home in Harrod. 

Mary was born on December 20, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Mildred (Pistor) Rigali.  On April 22, 1961, she married Ramon N. “Ray” Moritz, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2009.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, David Moritz and Joel (Traci) Moritz; daughters, Christina Moritz, and Milissa (Travis) Phillips; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Moritz; grandchildren: Katy Moritz, Matthew Moritz, Emma Moritz, Nicholas (Kassidy) Phillips, Samantha Phillips, and Christopher Phillips; and three great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Gaull, Helen Kitzmiller, and JoAnn Rigali; brothers, Fr. Joseph Rigali, OFM and Anthony “Tony” Dell. 

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Rose Catholic Church.   Father David Ross will officiate.   Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or St. Rita’s Hospice.
