Michael J. Greeley, 80, passed away at 7:02 p.m. on December 24, 2022, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Michael was born on November 14, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to John and Evelyn (Gibson) Greeley. On January 18, 1964, he married Nancy (Spencer) Greeley who survives in Lima.
Michael was a member of St. Charles Church, the Eagles Aerie#370, and the Moose Lodge. He loved his family time with all his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and many, many friends, down to his favorite…his dog Chloe. He made each friend and family member feel special in his own way and touched the lives of everyone around him including anyone he briefly met. He loved fishing on the boat at the lake, traveling to Ft. Myers in his motorhome, and all the rides in his Corvettes. He was known for giving you a hard time and you counted on it. He would get you every time with his poker face. He made this family what it is. He will be missed every day.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Greeley of Elida; children John (Betsy) Greeley of Lima, and Nick Greeley of Elida; daughter-in-law Heather Greeley of Elida; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Zach) Horvath, Kelsey (Colt) Schumaker, Trey (Kearsten) Greeley, Keaton Greeley, Lauren (Josh) Dawson, Jordan (Makayla) Greeley, and Luke (Sidney) Greeley; six great-grandchildren, Brady and Gemma Horvath, Ensley and Quinn Shumaker, Finn Greeley, and Jackson Dawson; siblings, Sharon (Rick) Evans of Cridersville, and Jerry (Connie) Greeley of Ft. Myers Beach FL.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Greeley
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.
