Millard O. “Bill” Bertram, 84, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on August 9, 1941, in Powersburg, KY to the late Ernest and Ethel Marie {Raines} Bertram.
On October 22, 1992, he married Susan {Smith} Bertram who survives in Lima. Bill graduated from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School. He enlisted in the Air Force, serving in Vietnam and other countries, and was an electrical technician during his time in the service. He worked at Chrysler in New Castle, IN and then came to Ohio in 1982, to General Dynamics and was an electrician until he retired. After retirement, he worked at Copeland in Sidney, OH for 4 years. He was a member of Lima Sabres Shooting Association, The Eagles Aerie 370, and the American Legion Post 96.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tammy (Frank) Chesher of New Castle, IN and Chris (Amy) Bertram of New Castle, IN; step-children, Howard (Delilah) Bowers of Pataskala, OH, Chuck (Kim) Bowers of Wapakoneta, OH, and Eric Bowers of WY; 4 grandchildren; brother, Gleason (Sharon) Bertram of New Castle, IN; and cousins, Joyce (Llyod) Miller of New Castle, IN and Joyce (Lloyd) Fletcher of East Moline, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Hazel Bertram, Kathy Braciam, and Linda Davis.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
