Nancy Riegle

Nancy Riegle, 73, passed away on August 4, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Nancy was born on November 4, 1949, in Lima, Ohio to Ralph K. and Evelyn P. (Point) Riegle.

Nancy was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education at BGSU, and went on to get her Masters of Administration from the University of Dayton. She was in Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Delta Psi Kappa (a professional organization for health and physical education). She was a health and aerobics teacher at Indian Lake Local Schools, where she retired from in 2012. She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church. She loved traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her life partner, John Purtell; stepchildren, Erika Austin, and Jason Austin; grandchildren, Mikayla Wise, Nick Austin, and Jadam Austin; nephew, Shawn (Christina) Riegle; grandnieces and nephews, Austin Riegle, and Londyn Riegle; aunts and uncles, Robert (Linda) Riegle, Harold Point, Dale (Donna) Point, Shirley Vogt, Beverly (Donald) Macklin, Kathleen Point, and Harold Place.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Riegle; aunts and uncles, Ernest (Cardee) Reigle, Jenis Riegle, Paul (Trudy) Riegle, Mildred (Claude) Williams, David Colgan, Ellen Reigle, Denna Point, Dorthy Louise Point, Roger Crider and Larry Vogt.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Forest Park United Methodist Church. Pastor Lynda Lockwood will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Park United Methodist Church Building Fund or Indian Lake High School Athletic Department.
