Nancy L. Strayer, 80, of Lima, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on April 26, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to the late Martin and Ethel {Rydell} Armstrong.

On June 17, 1991, she married Ray Strayer, who preceded her in death in 2018. Nancy worked as a secretary at Duff Truck Lines, SAFY, and for Attorney Ken Hardesty. She enjoyed sewing; she did the costumes for Elvis Impersonator, Richie Crouch. She attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

She is survived by her sister: Cheryl Armstrong, children: Catherine (James) Grothouse, Mark (Renee) Smith, Elaine (Mark) Davis, Julie (Tony Gilroy) Scott, and Jan (Ted) Ralston, grandchildren: Andrew Grothouse, Emilee Pohlman, Ericka Smith, Olivia Ball, Abigail Smith, Justin Davis, Megan Pummell, Tony Gilroy, Emily Gilroy, Amanda Isabell, Katie Scott, and Logan Ralston, and great-grandchildren: Dillan Isabell, Sasha Isabell, Haylee Davis, Xander Davis, Griffin Pohlman, and baby Pohlman arriving in July, and great-great-grandchildren: Waylon Overly and Eleanor Overly.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
