Patricia Ann Azzarello

Patricia Ann Azzarello, 80, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at her home in Elida, Ohio.

Pat was born on July 15, 1942 in Lima, Ohio, to Vant and Eleanor (Fenbert) Corwin.  On October 24, 1964 she married John F. Azzarello, who survives in Elida.

Pat was a Pediatric Nurse at Mercy Health St. Rita’s and later went on to work with her husband at Azzarello Restaurants.  She volunteered at both St. Rose and St. Gerard Catholic Churches, helping with Bingo, funeral dinners, and other various parish functions.  She had a special devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help and regularly attended Novena.  Pat also liked to fish, loved doing puzzles, and adored her grandchildren. She was especially proud of becoming a great-grandmother this past summer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jack (Beth) Azzarello of Lima; daughters, Christine (Eddie) Hullinger of Lima and Michelle “Shelly” (Greg Schiffler) Mooney of Elida; eight grandchildren: Megan (David) Jackson, Nichole Azzarello, Nicholas Azzarello, Emily (Mario) Jansen, Allison (Braden) Baldwin, Chelsea (Pete) Hill, Brittany (Drew Koch) Mooney and Mitchell (Raveon Rodriguez) Mooney; and two great-grandsons, Mario Anthony Jansen and Dean Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene W. Corwin; and grandson, Dominic Azzarello.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. Gerard Catholic Church.  Father Mike Sergi will officiate.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church.
