R. Damon McClain

R. Damon McClain, 72, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on February 1, 2026, at his residence.

Damon was born on December 9, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, to Ralph Emerson and Darlene (Schoonover) McClain.

Damon was a 1972 Lima Senior Graduate. Damon spent his entire career as a car salesman in the Lima area. He was well-respected, spending 20 of those years at Lima Auto Mall. He loved playing with his cat Sasha, he also enjoyed reading, watching Law & Order and Star Trek. He also loved pie.

He is survived by his son, Damon M. (Melissa) McClain; siblings, Rodger (Kathy) McClain and Joyce VanHorn; one grandchild on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his significant other, Georgia Barrows.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Shawn McClain.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 .m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his son to fulfill his Dad’s wishes.
