Rebecca Shellabarger, 49, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Ritas.
Rebecca was born on July 23, 1977, in Lima, Ohio, to Robert Eugene Reeder and Bonnie Jean Fosnaugh. On February 24, 2007, she married Stephen Colgan, who survives in Delphos.
Rebecca was a member of Lima Baptist Temple for 25 years. Rebecca worked for both Lima Baptist Temple and Lowe’s. She loved nature walks, taking pictures, spending time with family, volunteering at church and serving. She adored her children, as well as her nieces and nephews, whom she treated with the same boundless love. She was always doing something for someone. She was very thoughtful and particular about getting gifts for family and friends. She was an organizer and planner, she made sure all parties and get togethers happened, especially Sunday dinners with family. She also put together prayer boxes for people. She always prayed that the Lord would put on her heart those that needed prayer and help as she was a true Prayer Warrior. She would also get together with the Fridays Lunch Bunch at Light on the Corner.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her children, Emilee Colgan and Austin (Kortnei) Shellabarger; siblings, Brian (Bethann) Reeder, Andrea (Josh) Peters, and Amy (John) Solomon; stepfather, James Gelo; a sister-in-law, Lenora (Jeff) Herbst; and nieces and nephews, Kristi, Brittni, Ashton, Jeff “JJ”, Brendan, Gavin, Shelby, Brian Jr., Jaxson, and Kari.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Reeder-Gelo.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Lima Baptist Temple. Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with visitation one hour prior. Pastors Ben Anderson and Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to You Matter, which was a cause near and dear to her heart.
