Rebecca Lynn Zimmerman

Rebecca Lynn Zimmerman, 70, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Rebecca was born on September 4, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William Samuel and Helen Irene (Alspaugh) Hittle.  On July 6, 1974 she married Edward Leroy Zimmerman preceded her in death on September 18, 2019.

Rebecca was a member of Grace Fellowship and attended Open Door Baptist Church.  She loved watching old movies and Hallmark movies.  She also enjoyed word search puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Elizabeth Zimmerman; son, Raymond Lee Zimmerman; five sisters: Dee (Len Decd) Brewster, Kay (Jim) Reser, Mindy (Donald Sr.) Alsept, Anna (Greg) Rice and Laura Kindle; four brothers: William Hittle, Daniel (Pennie) Hittle, John (Ellie) Hittle and Tim (Sharon) Hittle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Marie Hittle; son, Benjamin Franklin Zimmerman; brother, Samuel Hittle; and brother-in-law Len Brewster.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N. Cable Rd., Lima, OH.   The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor William Turner will officiate.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Council on Aging.
