Regis P. Sullivan Sr.,

98, passed away at 1:43 AM on Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Springview Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in St. Mary's on June 10, 1917, the seventh and youngest child of the late Benjamin P. and Effie G. (Rowe) Sullivan. Regis married Martha B. Hawk of Lafayette, in October of 1938, who preceded him in death in 2011.

Mr. Sullivan had been a resident of Lima since 1919 and active in the insurance field since 1943. In 1949, he acquired an interest in a local agency partnership, becoming sole owner of what became the Sullivan Insurance Agency. He retired from active business in 1980. He was long-time a member of Grace United Methodist Church, holding many offices on a local and district level. He was also a member of the Ft. Amanda Lodge 706 F.&A.M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32 degree, Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. (Lima), Lima Shrine Club, the B.P.O.E. #54 (life member), and was active for many years in Lima Y.M.C.A. and other charitable, fraternal, social and civic organizations in Lima and Allen County.

He is survived by three children, Regis P. (Penny) Sullivan, Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia, Denton L. (Nancy) of Lima, and Craig A. (Debbe) of Lima; Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Muriel Kohlhorst, Mabel Tone, and Edith Reese and three brothers, Benjamin H. Sullivan, George Sullivan and Robert Sullivan.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev David Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
