ROBERT R. DORSTEN, 93, died at 3:10 p.m. February 13, 2005, at Otterbein-Cridersville, Cridersville, Ohio. He was born May 8, 1911, in Lima, Ohio to Henry C. and Selma Brockman Dorsten, who preceded him in death. On May 8, 1937, he married Lucille Springer, who survives in Cridersville, Ohio. Mr. Dorsten had been an inspector at Westinghouse Electric Corp. He was a faithful member of Lima Baptist Temple for more than 35 years. He was a tremendous positive patriarchal influence on all his family. He was very proud that all of his seven grandchildren are Christians. He enjoyed being a handyman. Survivors also include two daughters, Verna (Donald) Stratton and Donna (Russell) Palmer, both of Lima, Ohio; seven grandchildren, David (Carol) Palmer of Piqua, Ohio, Daniel (Vickie) Palmer of Monroe, Ohio, Robert (Valerie) Palmer of Little Elm, Texas, James (Jackie) Palmer of Scottsdale, Arizona, Darren (Tanya) Salsbury of Madison, Wisconsin, Thomas (Ruth) Palmer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Julie (Jason) Shaffer of Chicago, IL; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Ann Dorsten, and three brothers, Addison Dorsten, Ellsworth Dorsten, and Fred Dorsten. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Lima Baptist Temple.
