Robert J. Karcher, Sr.

Robert J. Karcher Sr., (77), passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

Robert was born on June 12, 1945 in Lima, Ohio, to David and Rosella Mae (Wilson) Karcher.  On October 17, 1968 he married Patricia Lee (Reeves) Karcher, enjoying 54 years together.

Robert attended Lima Central High School.  He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 – 1966 and was stationed in Key West, FL.  Robert worked as a custodian for the Lima City Schools, retiring after 28 years.  He enjoyed his family, especially three of his grandchildren: Noah (Hope) Burchett, Amanda Burchett, Heather Allison and great-granddaughter, Logan who spent lots of time with their beloved grandfather.  Robert also liked to fish.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Ben White) Reeves of Bainbridge, GA and Michelle (Rod) Burchett of Lima, OH; son, Robert (Maria) Karcher Jr. of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stanton (Debbie) Karcher; and sisters, Sue (Pete) Badas and Mona Karcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Donald Early; stepmother, Imagene Pratt; brother, David Early; and stepsister, Mary Ann Early.

There will be no public services.  Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lochaven Senior Apartments, Lima.
