Robert Thomas Rogge, 77, passed away at on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born on February 19, 1946, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Howard and Evelyn Marie (Radabaugh) Rogge.  On November 27, 2006, he married the love of his life, Sharon M. (Johnson) Rogge, who survives in Lima.

Bob was a Lima Senior High School graduate and was part of the 1964 State Champions Baseball Team.  After high school, Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1970; serving in Vietnam from 1968-1969.  He earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his military service.  After Bob finished his tour of duty in Vietnam, he returned to Lima a wounded warrior.  A group of friends were also returning from colleges and travels, and they decided to room together.  A house was rented (later affectionately referred to as “The Hog House” by some) and Bob along with Paul Barker, Mike Joy, Glen Eley, Don Mort, and Dennis Helmig, moved into this “bachelor pad” for some fun in the wild 70s.  Although baseball was the common denominator for these guys, they played golf together for the next 50 years, and were very competitive for bragging eights.

Bob liked all sports and was a fan of both the Detroit Tigers and Lions, as well as an Ohio State fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Ryan Rogge; stepchildren, James Wicker and Mike (Amanda) Hoskins; grandchildren: Landan, Camden, Brady, Amelia, Aiden, Karlie, Leo, Reese, Kaitlyn, Ethan and Noah; brother, Richard (Leda) Rogge; special cousins: Alan Radabaugh, Kathy Green, and Bonnie Runyan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and close friend, Paul Barker.
