RONALD E. KORKATE, 74, died at 12:45 p.m. January 31, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 9, 1930, in Ashtabula, Ohio to Elmer Korkate and Tyyne Kuula Korkate Michalak, who preceded him in death. On February 18, 1956, he married Rhoda Warg, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Korkate retired after 30 years as registered nurse from Oakwood Forensic Center, where he was director of nursing. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and a member of its choir for several years and its bowling league. He was a member of the Allen County Senior Citizens and Rising Sun Lodge 22 Free & Accepted Masons, Ashtabula, Ohio. Survivors also include two sons, Matt (Carol) Korkate of Hilliard, Ohio and Rich (Bina) Korkate of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kevin Korkate, Troy Korkate, Alexis Korkate, Shanna Clark and Ben Clark; and three great-grandchildren, Alec Clark, Katie Clark and Noah Clark. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Ovak. Services will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 3 p.m. Friday in the Greenlawn Memory Garden Mausoleum, North Kingsville. The Rev. Howard Allison will officiate. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Friday at the mausoleum.
