Rosemary Young

Rosemary Young , 90, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:40 a.m. at Springview Manor surrounded by her family.

Rosemary was born on May 26, 1932 in Lima, Ohio, to Charles and Betty Dowell.  On December 23, 1950 she married the love of her life Jack W. Young, who passed away on April 9, 2020. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage.

Rosemary was a member of Indian Lake Community Church. Our mother was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all. Her smile would light up the room. Mom enjoyed spending time at Indian Lake with her Family. Mom had a love for music and love to dance.

She is survived by her children: Debbie (Shane) Creech , Jackie Young Caprella, and Bill (Shari) Young; twelve grandchildren: Leslie (Jason) Birkmeier, Jeff Bacome, Todd (Megan) Bacome, Brian (Laura) Arnold, Sean Arnold, Ashley (Fiance Colbie) Gallegos, Kyle (Julie) Arnold, Ryan (Grace) Young, Kayla Young, Lizzi Caprella, Johnny Caprella, and Brandon Young; eleven great-grandchildren: Hayleigh Bacome, Landon Gallegos, Caleb Bacome, Lydia Gallegos, Aeva Bacome, Easton Birkmeier, Ella Birkmeier, Maria Bacome, Ethan Arnold, Emma Arnold, and Ben Arnold; and a sister, Shirley McGinnis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 70 years Jack.

We would like to thank the staff at Primrose Retirement Home over the last few years for their care and comfort. Mom loved her happy hour playing BINGO and spending time with all her friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the funeral home, Lima, Ohio, with a visitation one hour prior to service.  Pastor Jim Ellington will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 200 E. High St. Lima Ohio, 45801              .
