Roxie M Tolliver

Roxie M. Tolliver, 96, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on March 22, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by family.

Roxie was born on January 31,1930, in Twila, Kentucky, to Frank and Bessie (Johnson) Gambrel and also raised by her step-mother, Mazzie. In 1949 she married Clarence H. Tolliver, who preceded her in death.

Roxie was an avid reader. She was a UK basketball fan and loved her cat Katie, who remains. She enjoyed doing word finds and crosswords. Roxie loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Ray Tolliver, Della M. (Mark) Guynn, a sibling, Boyd Lee (Bobbie) Gambrel; a sister in law, Betty Gambrel, 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Bonnie (Ronnie) Doeple, Hazel (Raymond) McGregor, Jake Gambrel, Viola Gambrel, Rutha Moles, Beatrice (Eugene) McCall, Francine Budd, Orville Gambrel, Donald Ray (Barbara) Gambrel and Ace Frank Gambrel.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Rev. Donald Webb will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
