Ruth Ann Youngpeter

Ruth Ann Youngpeter, 94, passed away at 5:14 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at The Springs of Lima. 

Ruth was born on April 22, 1929, in Maria Stein, Ohio, to August J. and Catherine (Hemmelgarn) Budde.  On Saturday, September 2, 1950, she married Anthony Youngpeter, who preceded her in death.

Ruth was member of St. Gerards Church since 1947, where she served as a member of both the Alter Rosary society and the funeral support team.

She is survived by her children: Barb (Neil) Ribley, Thomas “T.J.” Youngpeter, and Gene Michael (Mary Ann) Youngpeter; grandchildren: Craig (Jill) Ribley, Amber (Devin) Okuly, Derek (Sierra) Youngpeter, and Travis Ribley; great-grandchildren: Baron Ribley, Nolan Ribley, and Blake Okuly; brother, Thomas (Margurite Sing) Budde; sister-in-law, Kathy Freeman; and brother-in-law, James Pack; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ivo Budde; sisters: Eileen Knapke, Norma Segar, Esther Hess, Marie Youngpeter, Roselyn Kunemund and Alice Pack.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio, with a wake service to follow at 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at St. Gerards Catholic Church.   Father Mike Sergi will officiate.   Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerards Church.
