Sharon Foltz

LIMA – Sharon Rose Foltz of Lima, Ohio, peacefully died Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 8:39 p.m. at Kindred Hospital Lima with family by her side. She was 84 years old.

Born December 26, 1939 in Cairo to the late Robert and Edith (Stockler) Solomon, Sharon graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1957. She married Richard Lee “Dick” Foltz on December 1, 1968, who died on January 11, 1974. The couple was blessed with one son John Otis (Denise) Foltz in 1969 who survives in Lima.

Sharon retired from Folsom-Somerville Insurance/Webb Insurance Agency after more than 38 dedicated years. A devoted member of Cairo Christian Church, Sharon loved God and her family above all. She always enjoyed a good laugh, spoiling her grandchildren, watching her shows including The Lawrence Welk Show, traveling, weekend shopping trips and especially, finding a “good bargain” at thrift stores or garage sales. She will be remembered dearly as a kind, light-hearted, strong, independent, and God-loving woman.

Survivors include her son; four grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Foltz of Findlay, Thomas Foltz of Piqua, Melanie (Jesse) Morgan and Jessica Early of Lima; and three brothers, Don Solomon, Jon (Deborah) Solomon, and Mark (Tami, dec’d) Solomon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Robert “Dan” Solomon; and best friend Lorna (Craig) Goodman.

Funeral services will begin 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 officiated by Dr. Charles Hirschy. Friends and family may visit from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Visitation and funeral services will take place at Chamberlin-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cairo East Cemetery.
