Stephen A Drotar, Jr, 82, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2023, at Lima Convalescent Home surrounded by his family.

 

Stephen was born on March 13, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio to Stephen,Sr (Pete) and Ruth (McCormick) Drotar. He graduated from Waite High School and attended Adrian College. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1962-1966. In 1968, he married Kathleen LoBue.

 

Steve had a 40-year career in Real Estate having worked for Yocum Realty and then owning Drotar Realty Company in 1985. He was an avid golfer participating in numerous tournaments and was the golf pro at Lost Creek Country Club in the 70’s. What he enjoyed most was attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was always the first one there and their biggest fan. He loved the Cleveland Browns, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and of course the LCC T-Birds.

 

He is survived by his 3 children: Stephanie Watkins of Lima, Michelle (John) DeConcilis, and Stephen Drotar of Florida. He has 6 grandchildren: Nicholas (fiancée Mackenzie Williamson) Watkins, Joseph (fiancée Jessica Lovell) Watkins, Abigail (Jacob & Grayson Vorhees) Watkins, Anthony DeConcilis, Johnny DeConcilis, and Sammy DeConcilis. Also surviving are his sisters, Ruth Ann Galpal and Felicia Harvey. His beloved grandpups: Archie, Wrigley, and Theo.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Evelyn and his brother, Gregory.

 

The family would like to thank Lima Convalescent Home and St. Rita’s Hospice for the wonderful care our dad received during his time there. Their love and compassion for him was a true blessing to our family.

 

The family will have a private service at a later date.

 

Any memorial contributions can be made to LCC Athletics or Lima Convalescent Home.
