Susan R. Adams

Susan R. Adams, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Susan was born on July 28, 1940, in Lima, Ohio, to Raymond and Nellie (Pepple) Snook. On February 9, 1959, she married her beloved Ronald R. Adams, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2019. She leaves behind her fiancé, Ron Craft, who was a classmate.

Susan graduated from Lima Senior High, class of 1958 and was part of the Lunch Bunch of 58’ which met once a month. She worked at Elder Beerman Dept. Store for 22 years, and at Citizen’s National Bank for 9 years. Susan was a lifetime member of Calvary Church and she had attended Lima Community Church and Grace Fellowship Church. Susan was a breast cancer survivor at age 40. She worked for Reach For Recovery which helped women battling breast cancer. In the past she volunteered at the West Ohio Food Bank, St. Rita’s Hospital, Elida LifeWise Academy, Equestrian Therapy and mentored at Elida Elementary School.

She is survived by her son, Michael Adams; daughter, Melinda (Mike) Sebenoler; grandchildren: Mike (Tim) Adams, Kaleb (Maizee Shae) Adams, Jacob Adams, Jordan Adams, Hannah (Nick) Adams, Kory (Andrea) Sebenoler, Michelle (Ryan) Burgei, Tyler (Kristen) Sebenoler, and Zach (Amanda) Sebenoler; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; beloved sister, Carolyn Brubaker of Granville; several nieces and nephews; and Ronald Craft’s family.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Adams, and granddaughter, Amanda Adams; and brother, Donald (Carolyn) Snook.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the funeral home, with a visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to service. Rev. Randy Boratko will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
