Susan Paton

Susan Paton, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family, at 6:14 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s. 

Susan was born on March 30, 1947, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Orlo & Phyllis (Evans) Swaney. On July 11, 2009, she married Christopher Paton, who survives in Lima.

Susan retired from United Telephone Co. after 33 years with them. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple. Susan loved genealogy and watching America’s Funniest Videos (AFV). She enjoyed puzzles and playing many games. Susan also liked country music, especially Home Free.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Denise (Anthony) Lambert Osting and Sherry (Ryan) Jones; grandchildren, Jodi (Geoff) Newland, Kyle Jones, and Kevin Jones; and great-grandchildren, Trenton, Lillian, and Cameron Newland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Swaney.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Gary Hohman officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Baptist Temple.
