Theodore Kearney

THEODORE L. KEARNEY, 80, died at 2:09 a.m. December 9, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1924, in Norwalk, Ohio to Butler and Marion E. Myers Kearney, who preceded him in death. His first wife, Mildred A. Kearney, preceded him in death. On October 5, 1991, he married Leola Evelyn Deitrick, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Kearney had been a supervisor at W.L. Mead Inc., Norwalk, Ohio. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2743, Norwalk, Ohio. He was an instructor for the Fireland Cadets. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors also include two daughters, Debbie (Rick) Berry of Holgate, Ohio and Donna (John) Feichtner of Willard, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Mary (Bert) McCourt of Lima, Ohio and Margaret (Tom) Madden of Noblesville, Indiana; five stepsons, Michael (Barb) Sprague of Elida, Ohio, Dennis (Bobbie) Sprague of New Port Richey, Florida, Larry Sprague of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Barry (Michelle) Sprague and Tim (Lyn) Sprague, both of Lima, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Kearney of Clarksville, Tennesse; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Kearney of Chandler, Arizona, Ernie (Maude) Kearney of Pennsylvania, and Howard (Barb) Kearney of Sandusky, Ohio; three sisters, Delores (Glen) Smith and Betty Rhodes, both of Norwalk, Ohio, and Vivian (Jim) Hopkins of Chandler, Arizona. He was preceded in death by a son, Theodore L. Kearney II; and a brother, Raymond Kearney. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hinman-Tanner-Walker Funeral Home, Norwalk. Pastor Sam Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home in Norwalk, Ohio.
