Thomas Allen Moneer

Thomas Allen Moneer Sr.,84, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Springview Manor Nursing Home.

Thomas was born on May 7, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to Ray and Lena M. (Mosier) Moneer. He married Sarah (Welty) Moneer, who survives.

Thomas was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines and was retired from the Lima Correctional Facility where he had been a security guard. He was a collector of everything and enjoyed trains and going to car shows.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Theresa Wireman and Stacy (Gary) Limron; son, Clifford Moneer; stepdaughter, Evonne (Bill) Barber; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Ronald (Elaine) Moneer, James (Hazel) Moneer, and Tarry (Myra) Moneer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Allen Moneer Jr.; brothers: Raymond (Jeanne) Moneer, William (Helma) Moneer, Donald Moneer, and Jack (Janet) Moneer; and sisters: Betty (William) King, Norma (David) Barnes, Loretta Moneer, and Mary Jo (Noah) Sherrick.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor John Hyter will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
