Timothy Meister

Timothy “Timmer” Meister, 66, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his home in Lima.

Timmer was born on March 29, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to James “Jim” and Treda “Jean” (Cavanaugh) Meister.

Timmer was a Lima Central Catholic graduate, class of 1977. He was an electrician and also worked at The Lima News. He was a Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University diehard fan. He enjoyed listening to music, golfing and gummies, and attending local high school basketball and football games.

His favorite role was being Grandpa to his grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and would always say, “If you don’t have family, you don’t have anything.” Timmer was a one-of-a-kind person, he was funny and never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his four children: Tosha Meister-Nichols, Kevin (Lauren) Ochs, Clay (Brooke) Meister, and Kayla (Joseph) Meister; grandchildren: Chloe Nichols, Ava Nichols, Kendyl Giles, Raelyn Meister, Charlotte Ochs, and Addilyn Chesson; mothers of his children and his lifelong friends, Cindy Ochs and Kelli Meister; siblings: James (Suzanne) Meister, Patti (Roger) Bruno and Denny (M.J.) Meister; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a special aunt, Dodie Wheeler; and his uncle, Chuck Meister.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Elm Street Church of the Nazarene.
