Tracy Alan McPheron

Tracy Alan McPheron, age 65, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on September 4, 1960 to Rhonda and William McPheron.

He was preceded in death by his father, William McPheron, and his mother-in-law, Patricia Sherrick.

He is survived by his mother, Rhonda McPheron of Elida, Ohio, and his father-in-law, James Sherrick of Delphos, Ohio.

On October 17, 2019, Tracy married his best friend and the love of his life, Susan McPheron (Sherrick), who survives him in Dayton, Ohio. Together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Tracy graduated from Lima Senior in 1978, he served in the US Navy and dedicated 34 years of service to Wastewater Management, working for Allen County, Van Wert County, and later Greene County before retiring. He embraced retirement wholeheartedly, enjoying the slower pace of life, working on his “honey to do list” and spending quality time with those he loved most.

He was a devoted father and pawpaw who found great joy in his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children and their children: Britney (Ace) Williams of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and their son, Wyatt, and daughters, Savannah and Emma; Shelby (Brandon) Whetstone of New Carlisle, Ohio; Jordan Sherrick of Michigan, and her children, Barrett, Isaiah, Rylan, and Emberleigh; Christopher (Aubrea) McPheron of Elida, Ohio, and their children, Mason, Isabella, and Layken; TJ McPheron of Vandalia, Ohio; and Jacob (Morgan) McPheron of Elida, Ohio, and their children, Lorelai and Liam.

He is also survived by his siblings: Jon (Bobbie) McPheron of Newark, Ohio; Marcia (Pac) Smith of Huntsville, Utah; and Mark McPheron of Naples, Florida, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Tracy truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He and Susan loved spending time together at Indian Lake, where they created treasured memories camping, boating, and fishing. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Buckeyes.

Above all, his kindness, willingness to help anyone with anything, quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Although his family mourns his passing deeply, they rejoice in the promise that he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior.

A celebration of Tracy’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
