Vickey Walton

Vickey Walton, 63, passed away at 9:58 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Vickey was born on November 4, 1962, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Robert Lee and Janie Ruth (Cole) McGill. On April 5, 2002, she married Nathaniel Walton, who survives in Lima.

Vickey was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, and received a double Masters in Social Work and Business. She worked at Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution as the social Work Supervisor. She loved to travel, and was an avid sewer and reader.

Along with her husband Nathanial, she is survived by her stepchildren: Nathanial J. Walton, Quintin L. Walton, Travis S. Walton, Ryan L. Richardson, and Shanndale Walton; many step-grandchildren; siblings: Richard McGill, Barry D. McGill, Kathleen (Billy) Dunbar, Valorie McGill, and Donna J. McGill; brothers-in-law: Sammy L. (Mary) Walton Jr., Alvin L. (Rosie) Walton, and Aaron D. (Keisha) Walton; and sisters-in-law: Sharon B. Stith, Barbara D. (Donald) Robinson, and Debra D. (Marvin) Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Robert Lee McGill, Hodges Mae Toler, Marilyn Hill, Glennie McGill, and Julie McGill; father and mother-in-law, Sammy Lee and Mable V. Walton Sr.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Shawnee Alliance Church, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Rev. Kris Browning will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
