Virgil Miller

Virgil E. Miller, 86, of Lima, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home. He was born on September 5, 1939 in Lima to the late Virgil O. and Grace {Keller} Miller.

On April 10, 1999, he married Marilyn Weber, who preceded him in death in 2022. Together they built a blended family. Virgil was part of the first class to graduate from Bath High School. He was the regional manager for Wonder Bread/Hostess for over 40 years. Following retirement, he worked at Springbrook Golf Course taking care of the greens, and then of course playing a round once his work was done for the day. He volunteered for the Children’s Church at Crossroads Church of God for over 10 years. He enjoyed mission trips to Uganda, riding his motorcycle, bird watching from his feeder, visiting Fat Jack’s Pizza for his specialty made “Virgil’s Sandwich”, and snacking on his favorite food, cookies.

He is survived by his daughters: Kelly (Glenn) Layman, Kimberly (Todd) Wheeler, Keri (Bryan) Evans, Katie (Eric Patton) Miller, and Kaye (Kevin) Litsey, step-daughters: Dodi (Bryan) West and Sue (Norm) Poeppelman, step-sons: Dave (Dale) Elshoff and Tom (Janetta) Richardson, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and brother: Jerry Miller.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Erma (Ralph) Woodworth, 1 great-grandson, brother-in-laws: Kenneth Weber and Gene Weber, and sister-in-laws: Reba Newland and Candi Miller.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 1-4 P.M. at Crossroads Church of God, with a funeral service following at 4 P.M. Pastor Bryan Robertson will officiate.
