Virginia Kelley

VIRGINIA L. KELLEY, 79, died at 9:49 p.m. December 1, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1925, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Henry C. and Rose Ellen Judd Davis, who preceded her in death. On October 7, 1943, in Illinois, she married Carl M. Kelley, who died December 10, 1997. Mrs. Kelley was a homemaker. She was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church. She had been a volunteer with the Appleseed Ridge Girl Scout Council for more than 30 years. Survivors include a son, Ronald M. (Mary Ann) Kelley of Copper Canyon, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn (Pat) Cox of Dayton, Ohio and Nancy (Bill) Neff and Carla (Jeff) Green, both of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Beulah Purcell of Murphysboro, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Roberta Davis of Normal, Illinois; and 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence (Anna) Davis and Ernest "Bill" Davis. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Joseph Bishman will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
