Warren Lafferre

WARREN "ED" LAFFERRE, 83, died at 2 p.m. April 1, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1921, in Lewisville to William F. and Lillian M. Weber Lafferre, who preceded him in death. He married Dorothy E. Ward, who survives at Lima Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Lafferre lived most of his life in Deerfield, Michigan, but moved to Lima, Ohio in 1992 to be near family. He was an assembly worker at Revco in Deerfield, Michigan, and then a caretaker for 10 years at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, Michigan. He formerly attended Grace Baptist Church. He loved living at the campgrounds, enjoyed walking and talking with friends and being with his grandchildren. He loved gospel quartet music. Survivors also include two daughters, Judy (Dave) Damaske of Lima, Ohio and Marilyn Larzelere of Toledo, Ohio; a son, Larry Lafferre of Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren, Erin Damaske, Erika Damaske, Nathan Damaske, Andrew Damaske, Matt Larzelere, Dan Larzelere, Joshua Lafferre, Amanda Lafferre and Jeremiah Lafferre; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathlene Koster. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Brian McManus will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to WTGN Radio (FM).
