Wendell W. Miller

Wendell Miller, 94, went home to be with The Lord at 6:18pm on July 15, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital. 

Wendell was born on March 5, 1930, in Plain City, OH, to Abner & Lizzie Miller. On September 5, 1954, he married Luella Brenneman, the love of his life, who preceded him in death.

Wendell worked at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 35 years. He was an avid Ohio State sports fan. He coached little-league baseball and slow-pitch men’s softball, in which he also played. Wendell enjoyed fishing, gardening and singing. He was a singer in The Miller-Ayers gospel quartet. He was a member of the Spencerville Church of the Nazarene and spent his life as a servant of God. 

He is survived by his children, Keith (LaRoyce) Miller, Joyce Kruse, and Jack (Melanie) Miller; grandchildren: Nick (Cindy) Miller, Amy (Adam) Burt, Erica (Eric) Kloeppel, Brittany (Adam) Dorband, Daniel Kruse, Shauna Miller, Skyler (Maddison Brown) Miller, Savannah Miller, Luke Miller, and Jacob Miller; great-grandchildren: Trejan and Keaton Miller, Caimin and Ciaran Goodman, and Hayden and Karlsson Dorband; siblings: William Miller and Anne Miller.

Along with his wife, Wendell is preceded in death by his siblings: Edna (Dan) Headings, Lee (Rose) Miller, Daniel Miller, Eli Miller, Nancy (Paul) Showater, Emma Miller, Alice Miller, Henry (Anna Mae) Miller; and sister-in-law, Ruby Miller. 

The family will receive friends from 9am to 11am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Spencerville Church of the Nazarene, Spencerville, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 11am. Pastor Darrell Potts will officiate. Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spencerville Church of the Nazarene.
