William Hogan, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

William was born on February 7, 1949, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Willie and Ruth (Chafin) Hogan. In May of 1972, he married Nancy Hogan, who survives in Lima.

William graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart Award. He worked for General Dynamics as a CNC machinist. He received a bachelor’s degree in theology at Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN. He was Pastor of Grace Assembly where he mostly did weddings and was past Commander of Disabled AmericanVeterans Chapter 19 in Lima for many years. William never met a stranger. He was very witty and always was making jokes. He loved classic cars and gospel music, especially The Gaithers.

Along with his wife he is survived by his children: John Hogan, Mark (Jessica) Hogan, and Stephen Hogan all of Lima; grandchildren: Sara, Elania, Ally, Ava, and Jensen; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sharon Halley of Columbus, and Doris King of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Aaron Hogan.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Wardle will officiate. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family towards funeral expenses or to donor’s choice.
