William Richard Jacobs

William Richard “Dick” Jacobs passed away at 4:47 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Parkview Hospital Randallia in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Dick was born on October 4, 1939, in Lima, Ohio, to Paul F. and Nora Marie (Sakemiller) Jacobs. On February 14, 1979, he married his beloved Judith A. (King) Jacobs, who survives in Ft. Wayne.

Dick was retired from Alcoa where he was a senior tool engineer. He enjoyed tinkering with technology which may be what led to his love of Amazon. He also enjoyed watching Ohio State football.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Brian) Radanovich; stepdaughter, Michelle (Mike) Rowland; stepson, Michael Zimpher; grandchildren, Ashley (Sean) Walter and Nick (Katie) Radanovich; step-grandchildren, Seth (Emily) Rowland, Korie Rowland, and Kayleen Zimpher; great-grandchild, Max Walter; and 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his previously mentioned parents; son, Jeff Jacobs, and a sister, Wanda Swickrath.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Lay-Minister David Belton will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
